The Financial Technician qualification is the ultimate step in mastering the operational and compliance aspects of business finance. By adding crucial knowledge of Income Tax and Business Law to your advanced bookkeeping skills, you become a highly sought-after professional who ensures a business remains compliant and fiscally sound.

This qualification is for Senior Bookkeepers who are ready to specialize in tax and legal compliance, preparing them for roles that involve direct liaison with auditors and financial directors.

Core Modules: Compliance and Control Mastery
This qualification requires successful completion of the six previous modules (Bookkeeping, Payroll, Financial Statements, Cost & Management Accounting), plus two high-level compliance subjects:

 Income Tax Returns (ITRT)
Tax Expertise: This module transforms you from a recorder of transactions into a tax preparer. You will gain practical, in-depth knowledge of individual and business income tax. You'll master how to calculate tax liabilities, apply deductions, and complete the necessary annual income tax returns for submission to SARS. This skill is critical for any functioning business.

Business Law and Accounting Control (BLAC)
Legal Shield: Understanding the legal environment is non-negotiable for a financial professional. This module covers the essential aspects of South African Business Law (e.g., contracts, company structures, insolvency) and how these laws impact accounting practices. It also teaches the principles of internal financial controls to safeguard a business against fraud and error.
